So I decided to try No Pain Rooibos by Pekoe Sip House out of Boulder, Colorado. Pekoe Sip House was started in 2003. They have their own cafe serving tea, coffee, and baked goods, along with a store that ships all of their teas.
This is the first time I’ve ever tried a rooibos tea. The leaves had a very pleasant smell. It reminds me somewhat of the scent of pine.
I brewed the loose leaves at 212 degrees Farenheit for 4 minutes using my Breville tea maker. I placed roughly 3 teaspoons inside to make two cups worth.
If you are not familiar with rooibos tea, it is made from the South African Red Bush. Rooibos tea usually contains no caffeine, so it makes a good drink at nighttime. It also has many antioxidants.
The flavor was mild, sweet, and flowery with a nice long sweet aftertaste. In fact, the aftertaste continued long after sipping on the tea. Pekoe Sip House has filled this tea with other tasty ingredients including turmeric, ginger, clove, cinnamon, citrus and cardamom. It will be interesting to see whether I notice any pain relief afterwards.
Overall, I enjoyed this tea. If you enjoy floral and sweeter teas, then this would be a nice addition to your tea cabinet.
